I have a good microphone and my voice is good, so why the lack of views? Is my content boring? |

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

You need clickbait titles and half-naked models as your thumbnails. Or more cat videos. |

..... ![]() f***, that got dark. Well, the problem is, the YouTube community is swarmed with Lets Play YouTubers. When my videos were getting hundreds of thousands of views, it was because they were doing something new and had click-baity titles they are over ten years old, though, the view count blew up pretty fast. Back then, 150-200k views was a lot.

Unless you're already famous with a following, or you're doing something revolutionary, there's going to be a lot of competition on YouTube already. I'm experiencing it with the fitness community. It takes a lot of time and consistency to build up a channel organically these days. |

There's an abundance of YouTube gamers out there, so it's a tough market to break into. For every channel that get's a couple thousand regular views, there are multiple channels that won't break a hundred. Think of it like writing. There are a lot more unpublished writers out there than published ones. |

Another way is to collab with someone, their fans might like your content and subscribe to your channel. Find a bigger YouTuber that also plays retro games and people may be interested. |

Your voice is boring, and you hardly explain what you are doing. You should open up the intro with a semi-loud "YO YO YO IT'S YA BOIII PEL, and today were gonna finish up yada yada" Also your choice in video games yo do LP's on is very niche, you should start out as generic as it gets and build up an audience. Then slowly introduce whatever games you want, but if they don't do well you have to change direction into a different game to not waste time and effort on content no one is watching. EDIT: Your voice is boring, but you can incorporate that into the personality that best fits you like dry EU humor with a dash of sarcastic back talk. Edited by Know'm Sayin', Apr 24 2017, 11:25 AM.

There are too many YouTubers. Only way to become big these days is by being mentioned by someone who is already big. Either that or find a hole in the YouTube market, good luck with that though. Edited by Ginyu, Apr 24 2017, 11:35 AM.

I have a loyal decent size following on YouTube. I made Dragonball fan fiction. What i did to gain a following was the following. This might help. - Work with bigger YouTubers. I did collab stories on DBZ, had their fanfic characters guest star on my channel and vice versa. I joined groups who gave me shout outs. It got my name out there and brought new subs to the channel. - Interact with your fans. I'm not sure on how large your fanbase is or if u even have any. One thing I always made sure to do. Is interact with the fans. I even made references to them in the episode. People like loyalty and humble. - Be excited/Stand out. Its hard to be original on YouTube these days. Everything has been done to an extent. So how do you stand out? As someoje pointed out. Have some dry EU humor. Show emotions and embrace your weakness and use them to your advantage. For my YouTube I use great character personalities to cover my weak story telling. I stand out by just being me - Have a target audience. Your audience is niche gaming. Somehow you gotta find niche gamers to chose your videos to spend their time on. Don't reach or compare other audience. - Promote yourself. Promote yourself. Get shouts outs. Twitter, twitch, Facebook rct. Find a niche gaming forum and promote yourself. Get your name out there. Edited by QueenTD, Apr 24 2017, 05:23 PM.

Upload a Dragon Ball Z fight without getting it removed by YouTube. Then you'll get a crap ton of subscribers that'll watch your other videos. |

True, you could also gain a following by taking the very easy road of uploading popular content like this.^ Then slowly mix in your original content, and eventually fully convert. |

Yeah I have a couple of DBZ soundtrack videos up that have over 10,000 views Claimed by Toei or whoever owns them of course so they make like...a few pence off my channel. All my hard work! But yeah as said a good thing to do is build up a core fanbase and then expand in to other things. Try to jump on any kind of re-release of a retro game and maybe you'll get super lucky and be featured in a WatchMojo video or something. One guy I'm subscribed too stared a Fallout 4 No V.A.T.S. run when it came out and WatchMojo featured him. He had like 4000 subscribers when I subbed, now he has like 140,000 in the space of a year or so. |

You have 50,000 views.. which is only a few thousand less than me.. and you have 120 subs less than me. So you are doing fine. Stuff takes time. You need one good video to go viral and once that does you pretty much gain lots of subs |

It also helps to be a woman. With boobs. A woman with boobs that are slightly visible and like nerdy stuff like DBZ. That would bring all the boys to the yard. Unfortunately none of those things are true. Everyone else here has given solid advice. |
